Little Gym Birthday Party

On Sunday, April 14th, we hosted our first kid Birthday party for Kaitlyn and Allison.  After attending Madison's gymnastics party in February, the girls immediately decided that they wanted a gymnastics party so we decided The Little Gym would be an awesome place to host their party.  All of our friends that we invited we able to make it, which included: Grandma, Grandpa, Emily, Olivia, Mia, Madison, Leah, Reid, Leif, Mackenzie, Lydia, Blake, Ellie, and James.

The party started at 12:30 with open play in the gym for one hour.  All of the kids had fun on the equipment but I think everyone had the most fun running around and chasing each other while giggling and being silly.  Jumping on the air track was also a lot of fun.

Allie all tuckered out!

After open gym, everyone went into the party room for cupcakes, juice boxes and fruit salad.  Allie and Katie each blew out their birthday candles while we sang Happy Birthday to them.

I will never forget Allie's cute little giggles while she was sang to.  After everyone finished their treats, the girls took turns and opened their gifts.

I was amazed by every one's generosity and kindness.  We do have the most amazing people in our lives.  All of our guests left with balloons and a craft party favor.  We all had such a great time and it was truly one of the best days of our lives.  How lucky am I to celebrate my 2 blessings Birthdays?

My little sewers

Grandma Dee and Grandma Laura should be so proud of my little darners! Last week I noticed that one of Katie's new soccer socks had a little hole in it, so I gathered up my sewing supplies and fixed the sock while Katie and Allie watched and wanted to help.  I found a couple of my old holey socks and let them practice sewing.  Not only did they do a great job, they did not hurt themselves.  Yesterday Katie discovered a little hole in her pants and while I was cleaning, she found my sewing supplies and started to try  fixing the hole.  I would have to say that I am super impressed with my sewers!

Will winter ever go away?

It is April 14th and this is turning out to be one long winter.  There should not be snow covering the ground with the talk of more snow on the way mid week.  I don't think this winter will ever go away.  Last Thursday after getting about 7 inches of snow, Allie and I decided to make a snowman while Katie played inside.  The snow was perfect for snowman making, very wet and heavy.  When we finished the snowman Allie decided our snowman needed a scarf and a name, so she named it "Popcorn".  At least Allie is still thinking winter is fun!

New Bikes

On Sunday we celebrated Kaitlyn and Allison's Birthday again. My girls are now officially the big 5!

After church Kaitlyn and Allison opened their mommy and daddy birthday presents.  Legos, baking sets, play phones and sticker books were fun gifts but the best gift was their new Hello Kitty bikes.

Here are some pictures of Kaitlyn opening her gifts:

After lunch we decided to go for a bike ride to the pink park.  It was only 42 degrees and there was still some snow on the trails but we had fun anyway and had to stop at the park to play for a while.

Happy Birthday Kaitlyn and Allison

My little girls are now 5 years old.  Where has time gone?  It just seems like yesterday we were celebrating their first birthday.
Kaitlyn and Allison
They are both so excited to be 5 and to grow up and do big girl things.  I am so happy for them and cannot wait for my sweet little angels to discover the world!

Last Saturday we had their family birthday party.  We started off the day making cakes and our beautiful flower fruit arrangement.

Katie and Allie both wanted a marble cake, but our local Target did not have any marble cake mixes so we opted for a 2 layer cake, one layer yellow and one layer chocolate.  After much debate about frosting colors, both Katie and Allie decided they wanted both pink and purple frosting on their cakes, with pink in the middle and purple on the outside.

After lunch and fun we sang Happy Birthday and opened presents. Good times and good fun for my little birthday girls!

Happy Easter

Easter morning has finally arrived.  After waking up super early and cuddling with me, we finally went downstairs and found our Easter baskets on the front porch.  Katie and Allie were especially excited when I mentioned that I saw the Easter bunny hoping around outside during the night.

Don't the girls look so pretty in their Easter dresses?

After church we visited my family in Glencoe and had a wonderful meal. The highlight of the day was the Easter egg hunt in Grandpa and Grandma's backyard.  It is too bad the weather didn't cooperate but we had fun and dressed super warm.  35 degrees and super cold wind chills on Easter, really?

Then it was time to celebrate Grandpa's Birthday with a little cake and ice cream.

Jackie and the girls had so much fun playing together!  Katie especially had a good time with her very favorite pal.

Before going home, Jackie decided we needed one more Easter egg hunt!

Happy Easter everyone!

Spring Fever

Yesterday was the first time that I truly had spring fever.  It only took until March 29th to get there but we finally reached 50 degrees.  We had to celebrate by taking a bike ride! Here is hoping for warmer weather soon!

Allie's ponytail

It was a milestone kinda day  at our house yesterday.  I finally was able to pull Allie's hair back in a ponytail and the ponytail stayed in all day! Doesn't she look just like her sister?

Happy Birthday Todd

We  have so much fun celebrating birthdays at our house.  Last week was Todd's Birthday and the girls and I had a blast preparing for his big day!  After baking his cake and decorating the house we patiently awaited his arrival home from work.  The girls could not wait to open his presents and eat his cake.

We thought Daddy needed a soccer goal but Katie and Allie had more fun pretending it was a tent.

Happy Birthday Todd!
