Our Sunday was filled with church, making valentines, and our first trip to the ice arena.

K & A are starting to understand holidays and what traditions go with each holiday.  Last Friday, we brought Valentines for all of their classmates at New Horizons.  They had a little party and took home Valentines and candy from all of their friends.  The candy was a big hit - they do really well with understanding that they only get one piece of candy a day.  In church today, they made Valentines with a message that "Jesus loves all of us."  Allie walked around the house all day singing a song from Sunday school about I love you.

After lunch we went to the Eagan Ice Arena and rented ice skates for all of us.  It was all a new adventure so K & A enjoyed people watching and observing this new sport called skating.  After getting on all of their gear (bike helmets and all!) we all went on the ice.  Todd had Allie and I had Katie.  The first round was a bit tough - they were both wet noodles and did not understand the concept of standing up and balancing themselves.  But after one round, Katie started to do much better.  The ice arena had a few skating helpers, which looked like a little walker.  By the time we left (one hour later) Katie and I were motoring around the ice quite well.  She fell about 5 times, laughed, got up and skated some more.  Allie did so well too.  I think we will definitely go again!  I also had a blast!

Here are a few pictures.  The first 2 pictures are of K & A playing outside on their playground set. It has been such an incredibly warm winter here in MN.  Where is the snow? The picture were taken on February 8th.   The 3rd picture is of  K & A perched up on their favorite windowsill eating toast!
